APPLICATION PROCESS FOR ONTARIO STUDENTS

Contact the international student exchange office at your university and request informaiton about the Ontario-India (OIN) exchange program. The office will: (i) inform you about upcoming information sessions, on OIN; (ii) discuss the requirements of your program of study and credit transfer of courses taken in India on exchange ; (iii) let you know if additional financial support is available through your university.  

The OIN website also has the following for your information:

  • short summaries on the three programs OIN offers (Regular Exchange; Study India Program, and Short Term Study Program); 
  • a document that lists partner institutions, the degrees and subjects they offer (for all students looking for detailed information on each partner institution in India);
  • a document that provides general information (Indian visa; travelling to and arriving in India; accommodation, and so on);
  • and documents that provide an overview of the SSP and the SIP. 

The information and documents are to be found under the tab "Ontario Students", sub-tab "Programs". You may wish to consult these prior to starting the application process.

 

Regular Exchange Program: Application form

  • Follow the instructions and complete the application. 
  • Submit the completed application form to your university's international student exchange office. Do not send the application to the OIN Office.  Your university will forward the application to OIN. NOTE: most Ontario universities have their own deadline for applications. Check with your campus international studies office for internal deadline, processes, and application forms.
  • Deadline for Ontario universities to send applications to the OIN Office: January 31.

Study India Program: Application form

  • The SIP is offered annually in August. the application deadline, for Ontario institutions to submit applications to OIN, is March 1.  
  • Your university will have an earlier deadline. 
  • Late applications may be accepted, space permitting.  
  • Download the SIP Application Form and follow the instructions. Your university will have an earlier deadline.

Short Term Study Program: Application form 

  •  The program is between two and three months in duration.  The application deadline, for Ontario institutions to submit applications to OIN, is January 31.  
  • Your university will have an earlier deadline.
